Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 5.x • The update table is not up to date (from J3.5.1 to J5.1)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been grappling with a well-known issue since Joomla 3.5.1 (Italian version): whenever I attempt to install a new language, I consistently encounter the error message “The update table is not up to date. Please rebuild your update server table.”

Today, I’ve upgraded to Joomla version 5.1, but unfortunately, the problem persists.

Even after performing “The rebuild,” the issue remains unresolved.

As an alternative, I applied a database patch (in an older version) following the instructions in this link ( viewtopic.php?t=971439 ). While this allowed me to see the list of installable languages, attempting to install or change the frontend language didn’t yield any results.

Curiously, when I set the default site language for a user, the dropdown menu shows no options.

Despite extensive searching, I haven’t found a solution yet…

Is there any saint out there who can assist me?

P.S. I have backups from versions 3.5.1 to 5.1, so I’m willing to try any tests.
